Day 01: Broome to 80 Mile Beach
Get on the bus with your new friends! Head over to a supermarket and do a big food shop together to prepare for the trip. The first day starts with a drive to incredible 80 Mile Beach. It is a very long beach but may not be safe to swim at because of crocodiles and sharks! However, It is famous for shell-collecting and fishing. Enjoy a drink, cook a communal dinner and get to know your trip buddies
Day 02: Marble Bar
Marble Bar is famous for being the hottest town in Australia. But don’t worry too much, it won’t be crazy hot yet. When you drive here you get to see some real red Australia - make sure you stop at the pub for a beer. Fortunately, there are a lot of gorges and waterholes around. Visit these, you can also camp at some gorges.
Day 03: Marble Bar/Port Hedland
Spend the morning checking out some gorges in the Marble Bar area, before heading to Port Hedland. Here you can visit the beach and buy any supplies you need before heading to Karijini.
Day 04/05/06: Karijini
Drive from Port Hedland to Karijini. It's a long drive to Karijini, but once you are there set up a camp for a few nights - there's a lot to see. There are falls, pools, hikes, gorges - look up some pictures. If you stop at a tourist information centre on the way you’ll be able to get some maps, and possibly join an abseiling/canyoning tour if you feel adventurous.
Day 07: Karijini to Exmouth
Spend the morning hours in Karijini National Park before beginning the long drive to Exmouth. We recommend setting up camp in a working station or a free camp before reaching Exmouth to chill out and the last couple hours drive in Exmouth the following morning
Day 08/09: Exmouth and Cape Range National Park
Cruise into Exmouth and check out the town and stock up on supplies and water. Then enjoy your time in Cape Range National Park! It is is an amazing place; camp here if you can! There is world-class snorkelling at oyster stacks. Or you can visit one of the most beautiful beaches in existence at Turquoise Bay. There is also some nice hiking available at Yardie Creek and Charles Knife Canyon. You can also organise a tour to swim with the whale sharks or go diving.
Day 10/11: Coral Bay
Spend the morning enjoying the beaches and snorkelling of Cape Range before heading south to Coral Bay. It’s a special place! It's a very small town with a beautiful beach. The most special part is that you can snorkel the Ningaloo Reef right off the coast! Stay here for a couple of nights.
Day 12: Carnarvon
Make the most of a morning in Coral Bay before driving to Carnarvon. Go to town for a day and stock up on supplies. You can go see the farms in the area and pick up some mangoes and check out the boardwalk. If you feel like going further, you can visit the Quobba blowholes.
Day 13/14: Monkey Mia and Shark Bay World Heritage Area
Head towards Monkey Mia stopping at sights like Shell Beach, Eagle Bluff and the town of Denham on the way. Monkey Mia is famous for being able to feed and swim with dolphins! Stay overnight at Monkey Mia and enjoy the dolphin experience the next morning and laze by the beach, play games, and swim with dolphins during the day.
Day 15: Shark Bay World Heritage area and Hamelin Pool
Explore what you haven’t seen of the Shark Bay area: perhaps have a picnic at Little Lagoon. Head towards a stop at Hamelin Pool for the night. You can see stromatolites here.
Day 16: Kalbarri
Kalbarri it is famous for its gorge, beautiful views and walks. Maybe you could hire a canoe or a boat to explore the gorge. You should definitely take a couple of the famous hikes, perhaps go swimming and if you are feeling very adventurous you could go abseiling!
Day 17: Kalbarri and Hutt Lagoon
Spend some more time in Kalbarri, and as you leave go check out Hutt Lagoon. It’s a pink lake! Crazy. Also, there is a guy that started his own sovereign nation nearby. Go check it out to get your passport stamped and meet a king.
Day 18: Geraldton and Ellendale Pool
Head to Geraldton to collect food and supplies and explore the town. There are some nice animal parks here, as well as an old haunted homestead. Just south of the town you can see the very beautiful Ellendale Pool. You can stop here for a swim or a walk, and even camp here.
Day 19: Greenhead and Jurien Bay
Spend a day beachside! As you head south you can visit Dynamite Bay near Greenhead where there are good picnic facilities and walking trails. However, the highlight is Jurien Bay as you can see sea lions! There is a good snorkel trail here and a fantastic beach camp at Sandy Cape where you can also snorkel.
Day 20: Pinnacles and Lancelin
View the world-famous Pinnacles at Cervantes! They look like something from another world. Then head south to Lancelin to play on giant sand dunes and go sandboarding, kayaking or swimming.
Day 21: Yanchep and Perth
Day 21 we head to Perth. Stop by Yanchep on the way to see koalas and kangaroos. When you arrive in Perth enjoy the rest of your day with your new mates. There’s plenty to see. Kings Park, beaches at Cottesloe, markets in Fremantle. Clean up the minibus and enjoy a beer with your new mates in a hostel. That’s the end of the trip!
