These are the places you can see
Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek
Take the included 4WD from Fitzroy crossing into Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek (then back again). At Windjana Gorge you will see many many crocodiles. However, don’t worry, they won’t bite - they’re freshwater crocodiles! At Tunnel Creek go on the 750 m underground tunnel walk. Scramble over rocks, walk through caves and wade through puddles.
Fitzroy Crossing and Geikie Gorge
Head over to Fitzroy crossing with a few stops on the way to spot some crocodiles! From here, go to Geikie Gorge, go on a hike or maybe on a boat tour, then head back to Fitzroy Crossing for the night.
En route to Kununurra via Great Northern Highway
Make your way to Kununurra via Great Northern Highway (back in the Share Bus). There are some interesting stops along the way, you can spend some more time in Fitzroy Crossing, visit a working station at Lawarra station stay or stop at Mary Pool. There is also the town of Halls Creek along the way, but it is not a tourist destination in itself.
Kununurra
Spend a day in Kununurra. You can join a helicopter tour over the Bungle Bungle Ranges from here. However, there's plenty of more affordable things to do - Visit Kelly's knob lookout, go to the river, visit Lilly Creek Lagoon or Miriam National Park (the mini Bungle Bungles), or just spend time in town.
Ord River and Lake Argyle
Kayak through the incredible Lake Argyle, which is so warm as well! Blue water, surrounded by red mountain. Make sure to head up to the caravan park to see the infinity pool overlooking the lake
Wyndham, The Grotto and Emma Gorge
Spend the day seeing some really beautiful places in the Kimberly. Stay near Wyndham the previous night, then visit the Grotto in the morning, a nice small natural waterhole, ideal for swimming and relaxing. However, make sure you save most of the day for Emma Gorge which is the real beauty. Go to El Questro for the night.
Keep River National Park
Head over the NT border, then head straight for Keep River National Park. The geology here is similar to the Bungle Bungles, there are some very cheap campgrounds, and if you are lucky a free guided tour.
Judburra and Gregory Tree National Park
You’re in the Victoria River Region. And now, you might want to start looking out for crocodiles - so don’t stay too close to the river! Visit the Gregory Tree and camp overnight before heading to the next destination.
Katherine and Nitmiluk National Park
Here you can visit the town of Katherine and their free hot springs. The real attraction is the Katherine Gorge though, where you can go bushwalking, swimming and canoeing. Butterfly Gorge is recommended You can also check out Edith Falls.
Kakadu National Park
Visit the famous Kakadu National Park. There are many gorges to see, some great lookouts, wetlands and a town within the park. Make sure to check out Ubirr for sunset, visit the Aboriginal art and spot some crocs at Cahills Crossing.
Litchfield National Park
Visit Litchfield National park close to Darwin. See magnetic termite mounds, waterfalls, nice creeks and more. The waterfalls here are incredible (i.e. Florence Falls!). You can also see some other interesting things i.e. Buley Rockholes (which are suprisingly deep!)
Darwin
Head to Darwin for the final night. Check out the foreshore and town. However, if you feel like playing there is a free water park!
